MalefistuM wurde von Dawn of Destiny-Mastermind Jens Faber gegründet und ist zu Gast: Melissa Bonny (Gelassenheit, Warkings, Ad Infinitum, Wut des Lichts), Zagan (Schwarzer Messias), Federica Lanna (Schlafromantik) und Eric Dow (Helsott). Das Album trägt den Titel „Enemy“. Das Album erscheint am 15. Mai 2010.
MalefistuM was founded by Dawn of Destiny mastermind Jens Faber and features as guests: Melissa Bonny (Serenity, Warkings, Ad Infinitum, Rage of Light), Zagan (Black Messiah), Federica Lanna (Sleeping Romance) and Eric Dow (Helsott). The album is titled „Enemy“. The album will be released on May 15, 2010.

„Try To Touch The Sun“, ein orientalisch anmutender Frauengesang, als Intro zu einem wilden Spuk aus Evanescence, Rammstein und Santiano mit nervösem ADHS-Drumming. Wer denkt, dass es besser wird, entdeckt nur Nuancen, bei denen sich der Dark-Folkrock-Gesang mit Growling abwechselt. Insgesamt aber ein schrecklich banaler Möchte-gern-Dark-Trash-Metal ohne hohen musikalischen Anspruchs.
Das Kooperationsprojekt MalefistuM wurde 2019 von Dawn Of Destiny-Gitarrist Jens Faber gegründet und „verbindet verschiedene Metal-Genres zu einer höchst interessanten und einzigartigen Mischung aus Epic-, Symphonc-, Power-Metal- und Growl-Einflüssen“, heißt es in der Pressemitteilung. „Oberflächlich betrachtet sind Einflüsse von Bands wie Ensiferum, Equilibirum, Dark Tranqulity und auch Nightwish erkennbar. Die elf Songs des Albums begeistern mit einer Vielfalt, Tiefe und Abwechslung.“ Wow! Eben nicht!
Malefistum hat das zusammengebraut, was ein Massenpublikum sicherlich mögen wird: Schnelles Tempo und einfach zu hörende Texte zum Mitsingen, Folk-Einflüsse zum Mittanzen, eine knurrende Stimme und eine liebliche, die den Hauch von Beauty and the Beast verkörpern, Songs zwischen Wahnsinn und Schönheit also, eine Mischung aus Harten-Kerle-Musik und zauberhaftem Frauengesang. Neues darf man nicht erwarten, aber es könnte kommerziell erfolgreich sein. Dennoch absolut nicht meins!
